I always thought that using a thick moisturizer would risk clogging my pores. In fact, when I was going through puberty just a few years ago (not yet a distant memory, tbh) these thick creams would clog my pores. I probably wasn’t using the right ones! Now I’ve found my formulas, and I absolutely can't survive a New York winter without a good, gooey cream.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream- This was the first thick cream that didn't make me break out, and I adore it. The upward vote is unanimous; I gave a jar to my boyfriend and he loves it too! This is a good, basic, gentle moisturizing cream that won’t clog your pores. Extra points for the large jar that’ll let you keep this guy well past the wintry season.
Tata Harper Clarifying Moisturizer- This product is perfect for my oily skinned readers! It has just enough properties to absorb oil, while also keeping you hydrated. It makes my skin feel tight, so this product is not one I’d recommend for everyday use. Use lightly and you’ll reap the benefits.
