I'm a health freak. I can't deny or pretend that I don't go a day without thinking about what healthy meals I want to eat or cook, how I want to push myself with the distances I run, and things of this nature. I love the feeling I get after working out several days in a row; energized and light on my feet. That's why I try to exercise every day. Typically, I run on a treadmill at my local gym, nothing fancy. I've taught myself several toning exercises from IG videos (who hasn't?) and then I pretend like I know what I’m doing when I'm on my mat! I will say, despite my form probably being a little off, my attempts have shown through. It's all about consistency. Nothing happens overnight.
As far as what I eat these days, I'm basically vegan, but not a very strict one (it's hard! hehe). The majority of my diet is plant-based. I eat whole, natural foods all day long. I don't limit myself because I'm eating nutrient dense things like fruits, veggies, beans, nuts, quinoa, and the like. I also try to keep salt, oils and sugar to a bare minimum. If it comes in a wrapper, I usually don’t feel good about eating it, but I make some exceptions.. My favorite treats are cashews, dates and oat milk. YUMmmMMmm!
Everyone has different preferences, but my greatest advice for overall wellness is to keep things as natural as possible and as consistent as possible. More on my personal exercise and eating soon. I’m still working on it, but this journey is so fun for me that I see it as a good challenge for myself, and maybe you see it that way for yourself, too.
